A Featured Friend is the selected kids’ book for the blog post. The books chosen are geared for ages ranging from infants to eleven. Each blog post focuses on one FF and contains three elements:
Our Featured Friend:
Title of the Book, Author & Illustrator with a paragraph of why we selected it for the post.
Introduction of Our Featured Friend:
Summary or highlights from the book, including a quote.
Invitation to Become Friends:
7 Suggested Questions, Activities, and/or Events correlating with the featured book, shared in an acrostic format, FRIENDS:
Feel, Relate, Imagine, Explore, Navigate, Develop, Share
Never Lonely:
You are never lonely when you have a good book, for inside are friends who will not tell you who to be or how to live, but rather will invite you to join alongside them for the journey. At the end, inevitably you will never be the same person as you were before meeting them. Come discover these characters inside the “Featured Friend” introduced to you in each post.
